MBA Online at University of Michigan-Dearborn

The University of Michigan-Dearborn MBA is designed for working professionals. The degree may be earned entirely through online courses or entirely through courses offered on campus in Dearborn, or through a combination of online and on-campus courses. There is no distinction between the degree earned though online and on-campus courses. Your transcript and diploma will look the same regardless of whether you take your courses online of on campus. Students who plan to take all or most of their MBA coursework online should indicate on their application that they are applying to the "Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program – Online (web MBA)". Students admitted in this manner will have first priority in registering for online courses. The admissions process and standards are the same for the online MBA and the on campus MBA. Students may apply to begin taking online MBA courses in any term.

The key to online courses is to gain flexibility in when and where learning takes place, without sacrificing the rigor and quality of learning. Each online MBA course will have an online syllabus with a weekly schedule of assignments. You can expect to read texts, articles, and materials prepared by your professors, perform online assignments or exercises, take quizzes and exams, complete group or team work, and participate in threaded discussions or chat rooms. Most courses will involve substantial interaction among students and instructors. Assigned work can be completed and posted any time prior to deadline. You will progress through each online MBA course at a regular pace, while having the freedom to choose when to do your work.

The requirements to earn the AACSB-accredited MBA are the same whether you take online courses or on-campus courses. However, at this time there are a limited number of electives offered through online courses, so online MBA students who cannot come to campus will have fewer concentrations to choose from.
